With Victor Wanyama all but certain to be Spurs’ first new signing of the transfer window, the fans in the Transfer Tavern in to celebrate have been met with further transfer talk.
According to the Shields Gazette, the North Londoners are locked in talks with Sunderland over the possibility of selling American defender DeAndre Yedlin this summer.
The American speedster spent last season on loan with Black Cats and despite initially struggling, greatly improved under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce as he plotted the great relegation escape on Wearside.
With Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier occupying the right-back berths at White Hart Lane, the USMNT starlet would be hard pressed to oust the Englishmen in North London.
Those at the Stadium of Light are believed to have an offer to take the 22-year old on loan again, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of next season should he continue to impress the former Bolton and Blackburn boss.
Sunderland fans, how impressed were you with Yedlin towards the end of the season?
