Ross Barkley is one a select group of players that commands attention from all corners of the Transfer Tavern when he gets on the ball, with the Everton ace able to do things other players simply cannot.
Granted, he’s not at all consistent – due, in part, to his age – but Spurs fans are particularly interested in his every movement with their side widely reported to be keen on him.
So the London Evening Standard’s claim today that Tottenham are continuing to monitor his progress and contract situation has been greeted well.
Barkley’s deal with the Toffees expires in the summer of 2018, so if he does not put pen to paper on the coming months the Merseyside club may be forced to sell him at below his true value or risk losing the 23-year-old for free in 2018.
Barkley has been in decent form of late, taking his goal and assist tallies for the 2016/17 season to five and eight respectively.
Ross Barkley needs to stay at Everton – agree?
