Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have had so much to shout about in regards to Mauricio Pochettino over the past few months, though our North London locals in for an afternoon pint have been ROCKED.
That’s because, according to Argentinian outlet La Nacion, the country’s footballing federation are considering a shock move for the 44-year old in their own hunt for a new national boss.
Following the Copa America fallout, during which Lionel Messi retired from duty with La Albiceleste, the AFA are in need of someone to replace Gerardo Martino.
As a result, they are said to have earmarked the former Southampton coach – who made 20 appearances for the country during his playing days – as a potential candidate.
Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and recently appointed Sevilla chief Jorge Sampaoli are also understood to be in contention, while they also try and reserve Messi’s decision to quit the international game.
