Spurs rocked as Premier League rivals step up shock £4m midfielder chase

While it’s barely on par with the notion of losing the likes of Harry Kane or Dele Alli, the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have met reports they could lose one of their gifted young players with relative disgust.

Such is the nature of the club’s recent penchant for developing emerging young talent, the notion of losing a burgeoning talent is treated like treason.

According to Football Insider, Swansea City have made a cheeky £4m bid for the highly rated 22-year old midfielder Alex Pritchard.

Though a stint on loan with West Bromwich Albion at the back end of last season did not worked out as hoped, the England under-21 international remains highly rated at White Hart Lane.

An ankle injury has somewhat stalled his progress since he was handed a new long-term contract just last year, with the Swans reportedly ready to rescue him from North London.

Still, as much as he is a fringe player under Mauricio Pochettino, the club are still thought to value the former Brentford loan ace at £8m, considering his age and obvious potential.

Should Pritchard be kept on at Spurs? Is he a future England international?
