Spurs rocked with £10.7m deal for lethal marksman snubbed, Arsenal also linked

Vincent Janssen

Having signed Victor Wanyama yesterday evening, the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have plenty of reason to celebrate.

However, despite the joyous feeling that comes so easily following the capture of a long-term target, the smiles have been quickly wiped from their faces thanks to reports from the Guardian.

They claim that the North London outfit have had a £10.7m offer rejected by AZ Alkmaar for striker Vincent Janssen.

The Dutch international has long been mooted as a potential arrival at White Hart Lane after a prolific season in the Eredivisie, while he has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.

It is understood that Spurs proposed to spread paying the fee out across a number of years, with AZ said to be unhappy at that proposal.

Though Harry Kane is undoubtedly the star turn at the club, the England man will need some high quality backup as manager Mauricio Pochettino prepares for his venture into the Champions League.

Could Janssen do a job in the Premier League? Should Spurs up their bid?
