The Daily Mirror states Spurs are expressing interest in signing Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich, as the Brazilian eyes an exit following just 17 starts under the tenure of Carlo Ancelotti this season.
26-year-old Sissoko is being identified as the ideal improvement to Spurs’ attacking ranks ahead of a return to the Champions League next season, where the Lilywhites will eye improved performances following a premature exit in Europe’s elite competition this term.
Spurs will offload flop signing Moussa Sissoko, following his disastrous performances since arriving from Newcastle United last summer, and £30m-rated Douglas Costa could be an important recruit for Pochettino.
Whilst rival fans in the bar have laughed off Spurs’ chances of signing a player like Douglas Costa, our landlord believes the offer of regular first-team football could be difficult to turn down – although he’d have to compete with Son Heung-Min for starting opportunities.
The majority of Spurs fans here in the Tavern feel it would be one hell of a coup for the club, as on his day, Costa is one of the most menacing attackers in world football.
