Expert – Spurs, West Ham and Stoke battle for potent £19m Italian international

Gabbiadini

There’s very, very little that Tottenham and West Ham fans won’t argue about in the Transfer Tavern. Much to the amusement of everyone else.

Still, when you throw the prospect of a player having to opt for one over the other, the mood does tend to change.

Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Mazario claims both London sides will battle Stoke City in a race to land Manolo Gabbiadini this summer.

The Italian has been playing second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain at Napoli for most of the season, though was linked with the likes of Swansea City and Newcastle United in January.

With both Spurs and the Hammers aiming to add strength and depth to their forward lines this summer, the 24-year old could provide a sensible option.

While hasn’t been the most prolific, scoring 9 goals for I Ciucciarelli, many of his outings have come as a subsititue for the superstar Argentine with whom he shares a dressing room.

There is believed to be an asking price of around €25m, roughly £19m, for the former Sampdoria marksman.

How many signings do Spurs need to be title contenders next season?
