The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are suffering from a Premier League hangover following their bitterly disappointing result at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur lost significant ground in the race for the Premier League title after Anthony Martial’s late strike ensured a narrow victory for United in a tense affair at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime. The game seemed destined to end goalless as the clock ran down into the final 10 minutes before Martial broke the hearts of the Tottenham contingent in the Tavern with a late sucker punch to claim a 1 nil victory for his side in front of the Stretford End.
Defeat for Tottenham rounded off a miserable week for the club, as they were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of West Ham on Wednesday evening.
As is often the case in well-matched clashes between Premier League title-rivals, the result at Old Trafford hinged on moments of brilliance and despair from both sides.
With just under 15 minutes to play at Old Trafford, Dele Alli stole in at the back post after Eriksen had found him with ease, but he failed to convert a fantastic opportunity to snatch an away win for Pochettino’s side.
Alli shared his frustration with his failure to convert his big chance on the club’s official website.
“We don’t just want to compete, we want to win and as a team, we’re frustrated.”

And Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration onto Alli following the result in Manchester, whilst others have offered words of encouragement for the highly-gifted Englishman.
Here’s what the fans have had to say on Twitter…
Keep your head up and get back to basics. Stop trying to show off what you think the bigger clubs want to see.

His development has stagnated. I'm no longer sure of his best position. Looks more comfortable deep, which is bizarre after last season.

Keep it up lad. Ignore the plastic fans.
