Talks taking place for ‘some time’ over potential Tottenham return

The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of a busier summer over the coming weeks as they attempt to finally convert all the pressure in the world into a Premier League title win.

Indeed, few would doubt the fact that Spurs have one of the best squads in the league, though Mauricio Pochettino’s men are in need of just a few tweaks here and there if they are truly going to compete.

So, reports from the Daily Mail have proved rather interesting indeed. They claim the club are set to open talks with former midfielder Scott Parker over a potential coaching role on Hotspur Way.

The 36-year-old recently announced his retirement after spending four years with Fulham and 20 years in the game in a career that saw him make 50 league appearances for Spurs between 2011 and 2013.

Talks between the ex-England international and Tottenham are understood to have taken place for some time over the prospect of introducing him into a role in their academy to begin with.

Parker is reportedly held in high regard by those behind the scenes at the club and there is thought to be hope within north London that he will link back up with them, despite other offers elsewhere.

A popular figure amongst our punters during his playing career with Spurs, our drinkers hope he returns as he begins life on the training ground.
