Tottenham have started the season well and as they look to challenge for the title and cup competitions again this season, their team looks in shape to be able to do just that.
Having kept all of their star players this summer, Tottenham have given themselves an excellent chance at having a great season, which their early form has already demonstrated. Apart from one loss, they’ve won their three other games and that leaves them high up the table, where they will want to remain.
Squad depth remains Tottenham’s issue though and Spurs could again be caught out by not having enough quality in the next few busy months, especially seeing as many of their players are full internationals.
Particularly, a midfielder needs to be recruited and young Belgian star Youri Tielemans could be the answer Tottenham need.
Tielemans, (who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt) joined AS Monaco last summer and has enjoyed a successful start to life in France. The Belgian international was always dubbed as hot property so when he finally moved away from giants Anderlecht, it would always be of interest to a team like Tottenham to see how he progressed.
The answer is a strong amount as the 21-year-old went on to make 35 appearances in all competitions last season, as well as already starting in each of Monaco’s first five games this season.
Tielemans can play in every midfield role, whether Tottenham would want him to be more deep-lying or more attacking, the Belgian can do it all and to a high standard. In fact, he’d be a fresher version of countryman and current Spurs star Mousa Dembele. He eases around the pitch and should he continue to make good progress, Spurs cannot afford to miss out on a midfield maestro like him.
