Elif Elmas is a future star and Tottenham Hotspur would make a good investment with his purchase.
Tottenham Hotspur are on a lookout for fresh midfield blood, and the reports coming from Turkish Football claim they have found an exceptional talent in Fenerbahce’s ranks. Elif Elmas is Yellow Canaries’ own wonderkid who looks set to leave the nest and fly towards bigger challenges in his career. Seeing his exceptional talent and already well-established skill set, Elmas could very well be a good fit for Spurs, and one who’s no doubt set for greatness in the near future.
Amid all the speculation regarding the potential departure of Christian Eriksen, Tottenham have set on a journey to find worthy replacements. Even though Elif Elmas is not really up to that standard just yet, he is definitely someone who can become Mauricio Pochettino’s cheap bet for the future. The young 19-year-old is far from being a finished product and yet is already showing clear traits of a great player.
If Spurs are really set to lose their Danish talisman, they would lose a crucial piece who offers long-range proficiency, excellent ball control, a build-up contributor and a set-piece specialist. Interestingly enough, those traits work perfectly when describing this young Macedonian gem. Even at his young age, he is already exhibiting great ambition and leadership, as well as ticking almost all the boxes a superb midfielder should. Additionally, with his youth come pace and stamina as well as great dribbling prowess as the youngster can be seen slicing through defenders with great speed and skill.
Take into account his relatively low market value (for his age) of a symbolic £6.75m and low wages that come with that and you have a true winning prospect in your hands already. Not to mention Daniel Levy would love to save a penny or two wherever he can.
Of course, after reviewing all of this, it’s difficult not to mention Harry Winks, who’s also a young gem (albeit slightly more developed) waiting to burst into the scene and he’s already at the club, being nurtured and groomed. But Spurs fans have to really ask themselves if Winks is the one they want to bet their future on. The 22-year-old is talented, for sure, but Elmas is younger, deadlier, more versatile and already surpassing Winks’ capacity. There’s no telling how high can that lad go as the sky truly seems to be the limit.
The same source claims that Tottenham are not the only ones lurking around this young pearl so Spurs better be on their guard and start putting things into motion after the Champions League final against Liverpool. Their potential of attracting high-valued youngsters and making their club more appealing to future superstars has never been this high. Now is the perfect moment to use the momentum for their own gains.
The time is now, Mr Levy and the ball is in your court.
