Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are not best pleased about how their season has started with them losing to Chelsea yesterday.
Of course, they beat Newcastle on the opening weekend and that is a positive but the game against the Blues at Wembley was a perfect chance to get one over on them and instead they lost.
For sure, plenty will start mentioning the so-called ‘Wembley Curse’ that the club is suffering and though there is no concrete evidence for that, the club does seem to struggle there at the moment.
They’ll need to stop that as soon as possible, then, and whilst we wait to see how they get on doing that it seems as though the club is eager to snap up young Turkish starlet Oguz Kagan Guctekin.
That is according to The Sun, at least, with the technically gifted player attracting the interest of both Manchester City and Arsenal at the moment.
For sure, then, this could be a real battle but our local Spurs punters are wondering just whether or not he’d make much difference to their current squad.
Spurs have really got to sign some more players before this window shuts because the signs are already there to suggest it’s going to be a tough season.
They were decent against Chelsea, make no mistake, but couldn’t break the Blues down before losing to Marcos Alonso’s winner and you get the feeling some fresh impetus is needed.
