Tottenham: Fans blast Jose Mourinho’s substitutions vs Chelsea - Tottenham

Loads of Spurs fans were left seething at a decision made by Jose Mourinho late in their defeat at Stamford Bridge, as the Portuguese boss opted to bring Steven Bergwijn off but leave the underperforming Lucas Moura on.

Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday afternoon may well prove to be their most crucial of the season, as Mourinho’s men are now four points behind Frank Lampard’s side.  The Blues took a first-half lead courtesy of Olivier Giroud before Marcos Alonso’s sensational strike made it 2-0 after the break, but Mourinho waited until the 78th minute to get Dele Alli onto the pitch.

Much to the dismay of supporters though, it was Bergwijn who was replaced, despite the Dutch starlet showing some really positive signs early on in his Spurs career. Lucas meanwhile was lambasted by fans for his shoddy display – for which he received the lowest match rating of any player on Sofascore – leaving fans to shame the manager’s ‘gutless’ choice of substitution.
