Dele Alli continued his excellent week by scoring twice for Tottenham in their 3-2 home win over Bournemouth in today’s Premier League clash.
Spurs made it three wins out of three under Jose Mourinho, who has witnessed a sharp upturn in form from the 23-year-old England midfielder since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino earlier this month.
Alli had scored just twice all season prior to the November international break, but since Mourinho took charge on November 20th, he has now scored three times, following up his goal against Red Star Belgrade in midweek with two more today. [via TransferMarkt]
The midfielder gave Tottenham the lead when he slipped the ball past Cherries goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the 21st minute and he doubled his tally five minutes into the second half when he lifted the ball over Ramsdale to put Spurs two goals to the good. [via Sky Sports]
Alli, who provided a sumptuous piece of skill against West Ham last week that left Mourinho stunned (as per The Sun), has enjoyed a revival under the new Tottenham manager, who was in turn credited by these Spurs fans on Twitter for the midfielder’s upturn in form:
