Jose Mourinho is back in the Premier League as manager of Tottenham after they sacked Mauricio Pochettino.
Mourinho returns to management for the first time since being dismissed by Premier League rivals Manchester United last December, following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
Are Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy destined to clash?
He replaces Pochettino, who had been at the helm at Spurs for over five years, guiding them to consistent European football and a Champions League final in June of this year.
The 56-year-old brings an incredible CV with him to North London; a two-time champion of Europe with FC Porto and Inter Milan and a three-time champion of England with Chelsea.
He’s charged with turning their fortunes around after a rocky start to the season.
Spurs are 14th, sitting 11 points off the top four. They also suffered a heavy defeat in the Champions League to Bayern Munich as well as a premature exit from the League Cup.
One of Mourinho’s most notable players down the years has been Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who he coached at Inter and Manchester United.
The Swedish striker is a free agent having left LA Galaxy earlier this month, so as soon as Mourinho was announced, fans started linking the two:
Can you confirm whether or not you’re headed to Spurs?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks in advance.
