The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting themselves ready for what promises to be one of their toughest tests of the season on Saturday at the slightly later weekend kick-off time of 7:45pm. Mauricio Pochettino faces Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City knowing that a loss at Wembley will ensure the Premier League title travels back to The Etihad for the first time since 2014.

Tottenham got clubbed 4-1 by Guardiola’s side in their last meeting at The Etihad back in December. Although the last time City beat Spurs away from home was back in 2015 when a Sergio Aguero goal was enough to ensure the Citizens all three points at White Hart Lane. Since then Spurs have had more luck, winning three of their last five meetings including a superb 4-1 win of their own early in the 2015/16 season.
The Manchester City side standing in Tottenham’s way this time is a different animal though. After winning an incredible 84 points out of an available 96 so far this season, the Premier League crown is already in Manchester, although is yet unofficial. The Spurs fans propping our bar up will be hoping they can compound more misery on City as they go into the game off of the back of defeats to Liverpool and Manchester United. City face Liverpool tomorrow in their Champions League second leg with a 3-0 deficit to turn around, and you can bet that Spurs fans will be cheering on Liverpool for every step of the game.
