Tottenham supporters have been in fine voice in the last few hours after seeing their side take a slender lead in their Carabao Cup semi-final clash on Tuesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their encounter with Chelsea at Wembley off the back of a 7-0 thumping of Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup at the weekend, and thus seeking to continue that winning feeling when Maurizio Sarri’s Blues visited the national stadium. And Spurs did just that as a Harry Kane penalty in the first half secured a narrow 1-0 success for the North London outfit, thus giving them a slight advantage heading into the return leg in little over a fortnight’s time.
As such, there have been many thrilled Tottenham fans up and down the country in recent times, although several have taken to Twitter both during and indeed after the match to fume at the performance of Christian Eriksen on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old made the move to Spurs back in 2013 and has been an absolute revelation for the North London club, with the Denmark international heading into Tuesday’s clash having scored four goals in his previous five Premier League appearances.
And while the attacker was reasonably fresh after sitting out their 7-0 drubbing over Tranmere on Friday night, Eriksen seriously struggled to make a meaningful impact against Sarri’s Chelsea, with his below-par display very much picked up on by several Tottenham fans on Twitter…
One of the worst performances I’ve seen from Eriksen. Diabolical.

Eriksen has been shocking today #COYS

Exactly. The whole ‘we would have lost that 3 years ago’ , albeit true, shouldn’t hold much weight anymore. Son/eriksen in particular very poor.

Embarrassing performance from Eriksen tonight. Tough game like that you need everyone digging in but he was non existent

#thfc Fantastic defensive performance there from Spurs who were off the pace throughout against a good team. Sanchez & Rose were quality. Winks, Kane & Sissoko worked hard. Eriksen & Son looked well off it. Also credit to Gazza who once again proved he’s a quality keeper. #coys

Great defending by the boys, Chelsea played well, Eriksen off game today, not convinced by Winks but the defence done their job, I will take that tonight though, the boys dug deep #coys
