Tottenham fans react to Lucas Moura’s Champions League performance

Tottenham supporters have been making a lot of noise in the last few hours after seeing their team record the win they needed to keep their Champions League hopes very much alive on Tuesday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men went into their meeting with PSV Eindhoven having mustered just a draw and two defeats from their opening three matches, and thus very much in need of victory at Wembley on Tuesday to give themselves a chance of qualifying for the last 16. But things went wrong quickly for the hosts when Luuk De Jong gave the visitors a first half lead, only for Harry Kane to net twice after the break to seal a 2-1 win for Pochettino’s side at the national stadium, a result which moves them to within three points of second place Inter Milan in Group B.
As such, there have been many delighted Spurs fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have taken to Twitter before during and indeed after the game to gush over the exploits of £28.8 million-rated Lucas Moura (as per Transfermarkt) on Tuesday night.
The Brazil international made the move to North London back in January but struggled to make a meaningful impact in the second half of last season, but he has certainly proven his worth in the early stages of this term with four goals in 11 Premier League appearances.
And while the 26-year-old didn’t get on the scoresheet on Tuesday night, he was a constant menace going forward and carried a threat throughout his 62 minutes on the pitch, a performance which was unsurprisingly very well received by these Tottenham fans on Twitter…
Lucas was our best player for an hour, Poch took a risk and it paid off! That’s why he is the coach and we all sit in the stands or at home! COYS

Again Lucas Moura was outstanding, his pace is electric, PSV couldn’t deal with him, disappointed to see him go off like most of Wembley as the boo’s rang around the stadium,

Lucas Moura, Harry Winks and Paulo Gazzaniga and Harry Kane stepped up today when it mattered.

Special mention to Lucas Moura too – who was our most lively player before his substitution.
A decision which wasn’t received well by the Spurs fans.#THFC #COYS #TOTPSV

Day 5. What a first half performance you gave out there Lucas, unfortunate you got subbed off but we got the 3 points you played very well @LucasMoura7 pic.twitter.com/j5fBLiwRHA

Fully deserved – despite Harry Kanes 2 goals, in my opinion Lucas was our best player. Shame Barcelona couldn’t help us out, but it’s still in our hands CYS #COYS

Can’t say I enjoyed watching that, but we certainly deserved that tonight. And what a player we have got in Lucas Moura seems to be getting better and better! #COYS
