Tottenham: Fans stick by Mourinho despite record coming under scrutiny

Plenty of Tottenham fans have leapt to the defence of manager Jose Mourinho following his side’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.

The visitors were outplayed by the Portuguese tactician’s former side at Stamford Bridge, as Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso scored before the break. The visitors could have leapfrogged the Blues had they took the three points but were unable to penetrate a stubborn Chelsea backline. Following the full-time whistle, the former Manchester United boss’ Spurs record was highlighted for all to see.

Since he replaced Mauricio Pochettino in December, Mourinho has picked up 11 victories in 22 games, with four draws and seven defeats, Last Word On Spurs revealed on Twitter (via @LastWordOnSpurs). Despite receiving criticism from segments of the Tottenham faithful, others stuck up for the experienced coach and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he deserves more respect having previously won three Premier League titles, while another stated that he is a born winner and needs more time.
