Tottenham: Fans think Harry Winks is going to struggle under Jose Mourinho

Some Tottenham fans think they have discovered who Jose Mourinho’s ‘whipping boy’ will be in north London, with many pointing the finger towards Harry Winks.
The Mourinho life cycle has been very predictable in recent years. Arrive, win trophies, decline, throw a few players under the astutely parked bus and then leave.
At Manchester United it was Luke Shaw, and later Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, and although he seems to be in very positive spirits at Spurs, fans have been speculating as to which Tottenham player will become the Portuguese mastermind’s ‘whipping boy’.
The Lilywhites beat rivals West Ham 3-2 on Saturday, and although it was an awful lot more comfortable than the score-line suggests, the performance of Winks has drawn some criticism.
The 23 year-old managed just a 6.60 rating on Whoscored, registering one key pass, one dribble and one tackle.
It was an effective but quiet display, and with Tanguy Ndombele set to return to fitness soon, these fans below believe Winks is running out of time to impress the new boss…
how are y’all enjoying Harry Winks’ last ever start for Tottenham Hotspur

he’s really bad at precisely the stuff that Mourinho demands his midfielders do

He and Dier will be disaster if they stay the two selected. Both were given so much space by a poor West Ham, and didn’t do much with it. But if pressured, they panic and are error prone. Needs to be combo GLC and Ndombele, w/ some kind of defensive cover for Ndombele to get fwd
