Tottenham’s dramatic win over bitter rivals West Ham United over the course of the weekend is still being celebrated by the punters propping up the bar here in the Transfer Tavern.
Indeed, our local Lillywhites may yet to have settled in at Wembley, though went some way into keeping tabs with their title rivals with a 3-2 win against the Hammers, much to the delight of our north London locals.
Still, a report from the Daily Mirror has dampened the mood somewhat. They claim Dele Alli is being PROMISED a move away from Spurs by some of the biggest agents in the game, who are reportedly circling around the England international.
The 21-year-old recently split from his previous agency and the likes of Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola are understood to be casting keen eyes over him. Big agents in the game are believed to have told Alli they can make a money-spinning move to Manchester United or Real Madrid happen for him, should he opt to depart Tottenham at some point in the future.
As you can imagine, it’s not news to have gone down overly well in our bar.
Was always going to happen. It’s a shame, but Alli is/will become too hot a property to avoid big agents and the problems that come with them for Tottenham, with United or Madrid always likely to circle.
