Tottenham Hotspur: Ben Davies’ assist for Gareth Bale has urged these fans to dream

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been calling for the club to re-sign former winger Gareth Bale after his equalising goal in Wales’ 1-1 draw at home to Croatia.

Ben Davies won the ball back high up the field before dribbling and laying the ball off to the Real Madrid man, who equalised for his nation deep into first-half stoppage time.

Bale has cut a frustrated figure for the Spanish giants this season and Guillem Balague recently suggested he was keen to leave the Spanish capital. Manager Zinedine Zidane didn’t see the player as part of his future plans and was even quoted as saying he hoped the player would leave (via ESPN).

Indeed, reports from the Sun over the summer claimed the Spanish giants had offered the former Southampton youngster to the North London outfit in a loan move.

A move away to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning was on the cards and close to completion until the club pulled the plug after they decided they wanted a transfer fee for the Welshman (via BBC).

The 30-year-old enjoyed a fine career in north London, scoring 26 goals and getting 15 assists in his final season at White Hart Lane before his £85m to the Spanish capital in 2013 (via Transfermarkt).

Now it seems the fans want to see the Wales international return to the club as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Spurs fans:
