The reports claim that the north London club may be interested in a move as the centre forward’s contract expires in the summer and he has yet to sign a new one as things stand.
Speaking to Telefoot earlier this month, Giroud said that Tottenham had made contact with him during the January transfer window only for Chelsea to block the move. If the transfer did go through, then Giroud would have signed for Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, arguably the three biggest clubs in London.
The articles also claim that the 33-year old is open to the idea of staying in London, where he has played his football for ten years.
The French international has scored 80 Premier League goals for both Arsenal and Chelsea but has seen his game time limited for the west London side this season. Still, Giroud has only made 13 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, scoring three goals according to Transfermarkt but remains a figure in the French international set-up. Therefore, he may be looking elsewhere for a move in the summer transfer window if he is to play more regularly, and Spurs could fit the bill.
With prolonged injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son this campaign, the north London side have lost the majority of their goals. After all, they have scored 33 goals between them in all competitions for Spurs this season and have been a miss when they have not been available (via Transfermarkt).
With Giroud’s experience in English football and goal-scoring pedigree, he could prove to be a vital asset for next year if the likes of Kane and Son get injured again.
