Duncan Castles was speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast once again and talked at length about Jose Mourinho and his stance on Tottenham Hotspur.

Indeed, Mourinho's reign at Spurs has so far been full of ups and downs as the Special One has recorded 11 victories across a total of 22 games played at his new club, though he has been criticised for his tactical approach by journalists such as Miguel Delaney, who called him 'outdated'.

Still, if Castles is to be believed, the Portuguese manager actually sees Spurs as a good platform to finally prove his critics wrong and show them how good of a coach he actually is following sackings at both Chelsea and Manchester United.

Here's what he said for the Transfer Window Podcast (26/2/2020): "I think he definitely feels he has something to give and to prove to critics in club football. And he sees Tottenham as a platform to do that."

Of course, it's hard to suggest Mourinho isn't a highly-rated manger given the fact he was handed the job of last season's Champions League finalists and considering his glittering CV. Still, his teams have fallen behind those of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp in the last couple of years and the theory that he's 'yesterday's man' has also been raised by Andy Dunn of The Mirror, so there does appear to be a suggestion he can no longer compete at Europe's top table.
