Tottenham Hotspur: Fans destroy Serge Aurier’s ‘awful’ display versus Leipzig

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have destroyed Serge Aurier’s ‘awful’ display against RB Leipzig in the north London club’s 3-0 defeat.
The Ivorian international only managed a 6.4 rating from Sofascore, which was amongst the worst in the Spurs team and worse than any of Leipzig’s ratings. Aurier only managed one tackle and one interception in the entire game and failed to block any shots. He was not much better going forward either, as he failed to play any key passes and lost possession 18 times, amongst the highest in the team.
In terms of the Champions League, the right-back has one of the lowest pass success percentages in the Tottenham squad with 79.1% according to WhoScored, suggesting that he needs to work more on finding his man.
Many fans destroyed Aurier’s performance on Twitter, with one fan even suggesting that he ‘needs to go’ whilst several others described him as ‘awful’:

It’s a good job we don’t need an overhaul in the summer! My word, Aurier is so desperately awful as a footballer.

Aurier is freaking brutally awful at this sport

Should have saved them both but easy to blame a keeper. We are proper poor mate carrying too many players who are not good enough. Aurier…well I have no words for this guy!

Aurier was out of position and poor all game, didn’t learn from mistakes from the first leg. No one seemed to have a clue what they were doing. Hit and hope Jose.
