Tottenham Hotspur: Some fans didn’t even celebrate Lucas Moura’s FA Cup equaliser

Tottenham had to settle for a replay when they drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Sunday. A Lucas Moura goal saved them from being booted out of the FA Cup by a lower-division side just as they were in the Carabao Cup at the hands of Colchester. To say fans weren’t amused would be an understatement.

Spurs haven’t kept a clean sheet in all competitions since they beat Burnley 5-0 on December 7, and that’s seven games ago now. They started the game with Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all on the pitch, so many will have believed they’d manage to do enough to secure their place in the next round.

Fans showed their annoyance at the performance even when Lucas Moura scored the equaliser. The club’s official Twitter account posted a picture of Moura celebrating, and fans replied annoyed that an equaliser even needed to be scored against a team who, on paper, they should be beating.
