Tottenham Hotspur: Fans don’t want to see Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko as a midfield duo again

Several Tottenham Hotspur fans have suggested that they do not want to see Jose Mourinho play Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks as a midfield partnership ever again on social media.

The duo started in the middle of the park for Spurs as they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United on Wednesday (Transfermarkt), despite Eric Dier and Tanguy Ndombele playing in those positions in their 3-2 win against Bournemouth (Transfermarkt).

However, neither player performed particularly well at Old Trafford. Indeed, Winks was given a meagre WhoScored rating of just 6.37 whilst Sissoko was only given a 6.21 for his display.

Both players ended up being brought off by Mourinho during the game with Winks being withdrawn after 69 minutes before his French midfield partner was then brought off in the 84th minute (WhoScored).

It is fair to say that most Spurs fans hope that is the last time they see the pair playing together in the engine room, perhaps preferring that two of Dier and Ndombele. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen and Giovani Lo Celso are also options.

Here is what some Tottenham fans had to say about the Sissoko/Winks partnership on Twitter after the game…
