Tottenham Hotspur: Fans drool over ‘devastating’ Rafael van der Vaart - Tottenham

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are drooling over ‘devastating’ throwback footage of Rafael van der Vaart after the Dutchman scored a counter-attack goal for the north London club against Aston Villa (via Tottenham Hotspur).

The goal put Spurs 2-0 up as van der Vaart scored his second of the game despite Jermain Defoe getting sent off in the first half. Tottenham eventually won the game 2-1 as Marc Albrighton, who has since won the Premier League title with Leicester City, pulled one back for Villa, but it was Harry Redknapp’s Spurs that were celebrating at the final whistle (full match report via Sky Sports).

Indeed, he made 77 appearances in total for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing a further 18 assists, according to Transfermarkt. Obviously, his time in North London had followed an impressive career playing for the likes of Ajax and Real Madrid before moving.
