Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are fuming at reports that the north London club are interested in Joe Hugill according to The Sun.
Reports from the article were relaid by the Lilywhite Rose Twitter page and journalist Ricky Sacks and they suggested that Spurs are favourites to sign Hugill after club scout Ian Broomfield watched him last week.
The forward has played six times for Sunderland in the U18’s Premier League and Premier League 2 this season, scoring three times according to Transfermarkt. Rather impressively, he has also played for the U23’s despite being just 16 years of age.
Whilst the youngster looks potentially like a good prospect, Spurs fans will perhaps be hoping to sign strikers of a higher calibre in the summer transfer window, ones who can aid Harry Kane in the goal-scoring department. Indeed, the England captain is vital to their cause with there being no recognised centre-forward in the squad outside of young Troy Parrott, so surely bringing in experienced options to act as cover and competition in equal measure for him must be a priority.
However, it is not yet clear if and when the transfer window will go forward after recent events which has meant that most of the major football competitions in the UK have been postponed for at least three weeks.
Nevertheless, some Spurs fans have been fuming at the prospect of signing Hugill on Twitter, with one fan even claiming that the club ‘need better scouts’:
Just what we need. A 16 year old striker. Get in line behind parrot, etete, Richards, asante.

Ndombele looked good over a 1min video think it’s what our scouts watch instead of going to 15-20 games and watching a player
