Tottenham Hotspur: Fans fuming that club didn’t sign Max Aarons when he was 16

Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left stunned after discovering that the club had Max Aarons on trial when he was just 16, but never offered him a contract.

The right-back made the revelation in an interview with The Pink Un in March 2019, but many Spurs supporters have only recently found out after it was tweeted by @DailyHotspur.

Aarons, of course, went on to sign for Norwich City where he has burst onto the scene in the last couple of years.

Last season he played 41 times in the Championship as the Canaries stormed to the title (Transfermarkt) and he has continued to be a regular in the Premier League this term, starting 19 times (Transfermarkt).

His performances have reportedly caught the eye of Spurs, with The Sun suggesting that the north Londoners are now willing to pay £15 million for his services.

If this is correct then they must be kicking themselves that they didn’t spot his potential when he was younger as they could have saved plenty of money by signing him back then for free.

Loads of Spurs fans can’t believe that their club turned down Aarons a few years ago, here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
