Lots of Spurs fans are gutted following Alasdair Gold’s news that the Tottenham Hotspur stadium finished second in the Stadium of the Year awards.
The award has been going on for a decade and appreciates the new stadiums that open each year.
The Football.London journalist’s article highlighted that the relatively new stadium came second only to the Puskas Arena in Hungary which now hosts the national team games after opening in October last year.
The complex in Budapest cost less than half what the Tottenham Hotspur stadium did and can hold around 5,000 more people, as per the report.
Nevertheless, the north London club’s stadium, which opened in April of last year, received votes from people in Indonesia, Slovakia and Argentina, exemplifying its global appeal as well as with the locals. Votes are collected from both the public and a jury.
