Tottenham Hotspur: Fans loved Steven Bergwijn’s comments on possible Premier League title challenge next season

New Tottenham Hotspur forward Steven Bergwijn has admitted that he believes it is possible for the club to win the Premier League title next season.
The Dutch international joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in January and made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut against Manchester City (Transfermarkt). That has certainly created plenty of positivity around the club and it seems that the player is keen to keep that going, given his latest optimistic comments.
Speaking to Sky Sports (via Evening Standard) about what he wants to achieve at Spurs, the 22-year-old said: “Everything that is possible. I think we have to look to next season and everybody wants to be champions. [I want] to win as much as possible, I want to achieve that.”
Jose Mourinho’s side currently sit in sixth place in the league table, some 36 points behind leaders Liverpool (BBC Sport), so it will take some turnaround for them to get into a position to challenge the Reds and reigning champions Manchester City for the title next term.
However, it seems that loads of Tottenham fans absolutely love Bergwijn’s attitude, with many taking to Twitter to praise his positive mentality after reading his comments. Here is what some had to say…
He’s speaking a lot…he regards himself high…and that confidence is 🔥..perfect mentality!

First thing I see how people react on this is our fans joking about it. The club itself isn’t small but our fans are small. This is elite mentality
