Tottenham Hotspur: Fans not happy with Eric Dier’s display against Aston Villa

Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans were not happy with the performance of Eric Dier in their 3-2 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The England international started a game in the Premier League for the first time since 22nd December against Chelsea (Transfermarkt), but in truth, he didn’t take his opportunity at Villa Park. Indeed, just one of his four attempted long balls were accurate, he lost possession on 12 occasions and he had a passing accuracy of just 71% in the match before being withdrawn by Jose Mourinho after 60 minutes (SofaScore).
It has been a tough season for Dier who has been out of the team more often than not, starting just eight of their 26 Premier League matches (Transfermarkt). And with the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele on the bench and fighting for a place in the starting 11, it may be that the 26-year-old is now dropped for their next game against Chelsea after struggling to make an impact against Villa.
Is Eric Dier finished at Tottenham?
Yes

No

What is for sure is that loads of Spurs fans were not impressed at all with the former Sporting Lisbon man’s display on Sunday, with many taking to Twitter to pile criticism on him after the game. Here is what some had to say…
Dier needs to be moved on as he finished as a DM….we need to sell in summer or loan him to club he plays every week to see if he can rediscover form…. Surely skipp worth a game

I agree. Dier looked awful again. Bergwijn looked good in spells. Certainly a better option than playing Sessegnon on the left. Yeah I agree, Lo Celso so much better in the middle than on the right.
