Tottenham Hotspur: Fans not keen on signing Ben Chilwell - Tottenham

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are not keen on signing Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell after the English international was linked with a move to the north London club in the summer transfer window by the Daily Star (via Ricky Sacks).

Sacks relayed information in a Twitter post that stated that Spurs were the front-runners for Chilwell’s signature and added that Ben Davies, Japhet Tanganga and Jan Vertonghen have not convinced at left-back under Jose Mourinho this season.

Comparing Chilwell to the recognised left-back Davies in the Premier League this campaign, the former has scored two goals and provided three assists, whilst the Welshman has yet to to register a goal contribution, according to Whoscored. The Englishman has also averaged more interceptions, dribbles, shots and key passes per game, as well as having a average pass success percentage.

Added to that, Chilwell produces more crosses and long balls, and has a higher overall average rating, highlighting his dominance when it comes to this season’s stats.

However, these supporters are still not keen on the 23-year old who has a Premier League title to his name and 11 caps for the senior English national side, as per Transfermarkt. They don’t seem to rate the Leicester ace, with one describing him as ‘overhyped‘.
