Calcio Mercato report that Tottenham are interested in signing Manchester United transfer target Mario Mandzukic.
Should Tottenham sign Mario Mandzukic?
The Croatian marksman has been frozen out at Juventus since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the summer. Mandzukic is yet to feature for the Old Lady this season and was dropped from the club’s Champions League squad at the beginning of the campaign, making his career in Turin look all but over.
Manchester United were strongly linked with a move for the 33-year-old during the summer, as the Red Devils searched for a replacement for the departed Romelu Lukaku, though a move never came to fruition.
He is likely to seal a move to England when the January transfer window reopens, however, with United still remaining firm favourites to capture his signature.
However, Spurs are also thought to be keen on the veteran front-man as a backup for first-choice striker Harry Kane, with Calcio Mercato claiming that Juventus’ Sporting Director, Fabio Paratici, is currently in London discussing the possibility of a move for Mandzukic to the north London club.
Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to that news on Twitter, with one not happy to see his club ‘shopping at Home Bargains’…
