Tottenham Hotspur secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 home win against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.

Spurs scored two early goals through Argentinian duo Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela to take control of the third-round replay, with George Saville netting a late consolation for Boro (BBC Sport).

Many players produced solid displays on the night, but one who perhaps impressed the most and was singled out for praise on social media after the game was youngster Japhet Tanganga. The 20-year-old was starting just his third game of the season and second in a row having also played 90 minutes against Liverpool (Transfermarkt), but it is fair to say he excelled.

Indeed, from a right-back position he made three interceptions, two tackles and one clearance in the 90 minutes, whilst also showing attacking qualities too by playing one key pass and creating one big chance (SofaScore). Added to that he also had more touches than anyone else on the pitch with 96 (WhoScored) and his impressive performance was noticed by most, including the BBC who gave him the Man of the Match award.

Plenty of Spurs fans were left in awe of Tanganga's display against Middlesbrough, with several taking to Twitter after the game to wax lyrical about him. Here is what some had to say...
