According to Alasdair Gold, the relationship between Joao Sacramento and Jose Mourinho will form the foundations of Tottenham Hotspur’s new era.
Mourinho is still adjusting to working with a new right-hand man, having spent many years working together with Rui Faria.
The football correspondent suggested the Lilywhites head coach spent his time out away from the game lining up a successor for his long-term ally, before he finally settled for his compatriot.
There is no doubt the Portuguese will gain plenty of experience working alongside Mourinho, which will add to the knowledge he gained from the likes of Claudio Ranieri and Leonardo Jardim, Christophe Galtier and Marcelo Bielsa.
Gold notes the Spurs duo have maintained contact through the ongoing pandemic via a daily video call.
It is fair to say Mourinho has had a hand in unearthing plenty of managerial talents, including current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.
If Sacramento can tap into his tactics then this will in turn benefit Tottenham in the future as the club could have Mourinho’s eventual successor amongst their ranks already.
Naturally, lots of Spurs fans raved over the journalist’s “great” view on the partnership at the top, with one fan tweeting “brilliant article as always.”
