Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as Jose Mourinho admits Son Heung-min could miss the rest of the season

Son Heung-min could be missing for the remainder of the 2019/20 season, according to Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho (via Dan Kilpatrick).
The South Korean fractured his right arm in Spurs’ 3-2 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday and the club released an official statement yesterday in which they claimed that the player would be missing for a number of weeks (tottenhamhotspur.com). Just hours later, Mourinho spoke to the media ahead of their Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig and gave his prognosis on Son’s injury, admitting that he believes he won’t play again this season.
Asked whether he thinks the 27-year-old will feature again this term, the Portuguese said: “I don’t. If he plays one or two games it’s because [Simon, the club press officer who wrote the official injury announcement] is very optimistic and I hope he’s right. But in my mind, no, I’m not thinking about that,” (via Evening Standard).
Losing Son is a huge blow for Tottenham, especially with him having been in a rich vein of form of late with six goals in his last five appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Plenty of fans have been reacting to Mourinho’s revelation that the former Bayer Leverkusen man could be out for the season and naturally they are absolutely gutted about it. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…

Cursed club. Don’t help ourselves with transfer strategy though. Now we will rush Kane back again and probably ruin him for the summer for England. Joke. How hard is it to buy a striker when we’ve sold janssen and released Llorente

Can only laugh at this point
