Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Christian Eriksen assist against Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur secured a dramatic late victory against Wolves on Sunday, with Jose Mourinho’s side netting in the 91st minute to pick up all three points (BBC Sport).
Spurs had gone ahead through Lucas Moura, but after Adama Traore equalised, it looked as though the two sides were going to have to settle for a point each.
Is Moussa Sissoko now one of the best midfielders in England?
Yes

No

However, Jan Vertonghen scored at the death, heading home from a corner kick which was whipped in by Christian Eriksen.
It was only Eriksen’s second Premier League assist of the season and first since a game against Southampton back in September (Transfermarkt).
The Dane’s contract is up at the end of the season and he has made it clear that he wishes to leave the club (The Telegraph), which could be why he has been left on the bench in each of Spurs’ last six league outings (Transfermarkt).
He has come in for some criticism from fans recently, including after their defeat against Bayern Munich when one supporter described his performance as ‘utterly pitiful’.
Eriksen was utterly pitiful. A shocking lack of desire and appetite. Should never pull on our shirt again.

However, many were actually impressed with his display against Wolves and praised him on social media. Here is what some supporters had to say about Eriksen on Twitter following his assist against Wolves…
Before I go to bed, well done to Eriksen for a quality delivery which led to the winning goal. Credit where it is due.

I know he’s not popular at the moment but that corner by Eriksen was outstanding because he’s actually seen Vertonghen unmarked and picked him out with enough curl and pace for Jan to get the power on it.
