Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Erik Lamela will be out for another two months.
According to Ben Dinnery, the ex-Roma man had entered the final phase of his recovery from injury but has suffered a setback which will rule him out of action until 2020.
The Argentinian attacker has been missing since playing 90 minutes against Red Star back in October (Transfermarkt) and is yet to feature at all since the Portuguese replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout.
It is the latest in a long line of injuries that Lamela has had during his time in north London, with the worst being when he missed 57 games with a hip problem a few years ago (Transfermarkt).
It appears that many Spurs fans have now lost patience with the 27-year-old due to his continuous injury issues, with some suggesting that they should look to sell him in the near future as he isn’t justifying his wage.
Here is what some had to say about Lamela on Twitter…

I’ve lost all patience with Lamela now – love the guy but what’s the point in him being fit for 3 months of the year?

Lamela has done the same thing every single season for us bar 15/16 I swear 😭😭 started really promisingly, probs been our best player the first 2 months. Then gets injured and isn’t seen again until April

Did you really believe Lamela would have an injury free season? Guess again. I’d cash in now, even though he has been playing well under Pochettino #THFC
