Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to footage of Christian Eriksen’s Inter Milan debut

Christian Eriksen made his debut for Inter Milan on Wednesday in their 2-1 Coppa Italia win against Fiorentina, coming on as a substitute for the final 24 minutes of the game (Transfermarkt).
The Danish international only moved to the Serie A outfit on Tuesday, joining from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £16.9 million (BBC Sport).
It wasn’t the best debut for Eriksen, who in such a short amount of time on the pitch managed to lose possession on eight occasions, whilst both of his attempted crosses and all three of his attempted long balls were inaccurate (SofaScore).
One of those crosses which failed to find a teammate came from a free-kick, video footage of which has been doing the rounds on Twitter. Indeed the Dane’s cross failed to beat the first man, a trait he became well known for at Spurs with a statistic emerging in August that at the time 62% of his corners in the Premier League didn’t go beyond the first man (@SpursStatMan).
After seeing footage of the free-kick, many Tottenham fans have been quick to react on Twitter with many mocking the 27-year-old for his poor delivery and one saying that it was “classic Eriksen“. Here is what some had to say…
😂😂 I will certainly not miss seeing that 5 times every game.
