Barcelona have made an enquiry about the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen this month, that is according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Danish international’s contract at Spurs is set to expire in the summer, but he could well leave before this month’s transfer deadline so that the north London club don’t lose him for nothing.
Inter Milan are known to be interested in the 27-year-old, but as per the report no deal has yet been agreed between Tottenham and the Serie A outfit although it is thought that personal terms have been sorted. Spurs are thought to be holding out for £17 million, but Inter’s most recent offer fell short at just £11 million.
The reported interest from Barcelona could then make things interesting as we head into the final days of the transfer window. Some Spurs fans have also suggested on social media it could be good news for Daniel Levy as having two interested parties could mean a bidding war and therefore they may get a higher price for the player.
Here is how some Tottenham supporters reacted to news of Barcelona’s interest in Eriksen on Twitter…
