Danny Rose has accepted that the time has come to leave Tottenham Hotspur, that is according to a report from the Evening Standard.
The 29-year-old had previously stated his intention stay at Spurs and run his contract, which lasts until the summer of 2021, down (Telegraph). However, he has found himself out of favour under new manager Jose Mourinho of late. Indeed he has played in just one of their last nine matches in all competitions and he hasn’t even been in the squad for the other eight of those (Transfermarkt).
The most recent fixture he missed was their FA Cup tie against Southampton and Mourinho confirmed afterwards that the left-back was not injured and that he was absent due to the manager’s decision based on “performance and analysis,” (Evening Standard).
As a result, it is reported that Rose has now conceded that he needs to move on and it is expected that he will leave on loan, with Newcastle United, Watford and AFC Bournemouth all thought to be interested.
It seems that plenty of Spurs fans would be happy to see the back of the England international, with many taking to Twitter to suggest that it would be a good thing if he did leave the club this month. Here is what some had to say…
