Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Emil Forsberg in the summer transfer window, according to a report from Bild via Sport Witness.
It is suggested that RB Leipzig would want €20m (£16.8m) for the player, who will have just one year left on his current contract come the end of the season. A move to Spurs could be on the cards with Yvonne Gabriel, a journalist who works for Bild, quoted in Swedish outlet Aftonbladet as saying: “Jose Mourinho likes Emil Forsberg. Mourinho was clear after the first match between Tottenham and Leipzig in the Champions League.”
Could Erik Lamela play through the middle?
The 49-time Sweden international is a versatile operator who can play either as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. He hasn’t been a regular in Julian Nagelsmann’s team this season, starting in just 16 of their 33 games in all competitions. However, he has still manage to chip in with nine goals and four assists (Transfermarkt).
It seems that the 28-year-old wouldn’t be a popular signing among the Spurs fanbase, though. Indeed many have taken to Twitter to suggest that they wouldn’t want to see him join the north London outfit, with one fan saying they would rather have Emiliano Buendia from Norwich who plays in a similar position to Forsberg (Transfermarkt).
Here is what some had to say about it…
As a Swede, no thanks! The guy’s has a “bigger than life” attitude
