Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is thought to be extremely keen on signing Emre Can this month and is lining up a €30 million (£25.3m) offer ahead of the transfer deadline, that is according to a report from TuttoJuve.
The German midfielder joined the Turin-based outfit in the summer of 2018 from Liverpool, but things haven’t really worked out for him there.
Whilst he did manage to make 23 starts in all competitions last season (Transfermarkt), this term he has barely featured at all. Indeed, he has made just eight appearances in total, two of which were starts and added to that he was also left out of their Champions League squad for the group stages (Transfermarkt).
Juventus have heaps of quality in the central midfield area with Blaise Matuidi, Aaron Ramsey, Miralem Pjanic, Adrien Rabiot and Rodrigo Bentancur also at the club so it may be that they allow Can to move on. Still, Spurs could face competition for his signature though, with Bild reporting that Borussia Dortmund are in pole position to get him.
One thing is for sure, plenty of Tottenham supporters would love to see the 26-year-old move to north London. Indeed, many have taken to Twitter to suggest that Can would be an excellent signing for the club. Here is what some had to say…
