Tottenham Hotspur are trying to find a way of getting a deal done for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek and have offered the Serie A outfit the chance to take one of Juan Foyth and Erik Lamela as part of the deal according to The Times.
Spurs are of course searching for a new striker before the transfer deadline as they look to replace the injured Harry Kane, who is set to be out until at least April having had surgery on his left hamstring (tottenhamhotspur.com).
The likes of Edinson Cavani and Willian Jose have been linked with a move to north London, but Piatek also appears to be a key target
However, according to the report, Tottenham are not prepared to meet the £25 million asking price for the Polish international but are now willing to allow either Lamela or Foyth to move to the San Siro as part of the agreement.
Lamela was Spurs’ record signing when he joined from Roma in 2013 for £30 million (Independent), but has often struggled to play games on a consistent basis due to a string of injury issues whilst at the club (Transfermarkt). That said, he has still managed to score 33 goals and provide 45 assists in his time at Tottenham (Transfermarkt).
As for Foyth, he has barely featured at all this season and has played just 262 minutes in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Whilst plenty of Spurs fans would like the club to sign Piatek, it seems that many of them are not keen on the idea of Lamela, in particular, being offered as part of the deal. Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
What a mistake that would be

Throwing Lamela into this deal is the most crazy idea of 2020 so far! Sorry. But he is proving himself these days! So much potential. Please don’t. Just…. don’t. #COYS
