Tottenham Hotspur will consider trying to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier in the summer transfer window if they fail to get Norwich City’s Max Aarons, according to a report from Football London.
Right-back is likely to be a position that Jose Mourinho prioritises in the summer, with Serge Aurier now their only recognised player in that role after Kyle Walker-Peters failed to make an impression and left to join Southampton on loan.
Football London claimed that Aarons is the Portuguese’s first choice to fill the position, but if he proves too expensive then they may well look at the Belgian, who will be available on a free transfer with his contract at PSG set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Despite his future looking like it lies elsewhere, the 28-year-old has still been a regular for the French outfit this term and has made 24 appearances across all competitions, including 21 starts (Transfermarkt). It seems that many Spurs fans have differing opinions on the potential signing of Meunier however. Whilst some feel that he would be a good addition, others aren’t so keen, with one suggesting that “even Aurier is better than him”.
Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…

Hell yes! Would be a perfect fit. Great attacking wingback and solid defensively. Love his size too
