Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott is set to remain at the club and not go out on loan for the second half of the season, that is according to a report from Evening Standard correspondent Dan Kilpatrick.
It had been reported earlier in the week that the Republic of Ireland international would be allowed to leave the club temporarily and that QPR, Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday were all interested (Evening Standard). Kilpatrick also suggests that ADO Den Haag, now managed by Alan Pardew, were also keen on the 17-year-old but it seems that he will be staying in north London for now.
Spurs are currently lacking in strikers with Harry Kane out injured due to a hamstring injury and unlikely to be back before April (tottenhamhotspur.com). However, that has not meant more game time for Parrott in recent weeks, with his only Premier League appearance being a five-minute cameo against Burnley in December (Transfermarkt).
It seems that Tottenham fans are divided on the decision not to send Parrott out on loan. Some think it is good news as they are short on strikers and they want him to play more often, whilst others do not feel that he is ready and think he should go out for some experience. Here is what some said on Twitter…
Good but I hope that doesn’t mean we aren’t getting a striker….

Well that makes complete sense…now why don’t we give him some play time?!

If he isn’t gonna get any gametime then he should be sent on loan.

No U23 minutes, no first team minutes and not even part of the match day squad. Fantastic for his development.
