New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has already made an impact in North London, winning his first two games in charge.
Beating West Ham lifted Spurs into the top half of the Premier League, while victory over Olympiakos ensured their qualification for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is no stranger to the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ having worked with him at Inter Milan as a young player between 2008 and 2009.
He won the treble while in charge at the San Siro, making him particularly unpopular with Juventus supporters and the Portuguese did very little to enhance this, provoking fans when his Manchester United side won in the Allianz Stadium last season.
Bonucci knows all about his expertise in European competitions, via Goal, he said: “I would like to avoid Tottenham. With the arrival of Mourinho, in some games he can give them something extra.
In knockout games, without wanting to take anything away from Pochettino, Mourinho knows how to drag something more out of his players.”
Spurs fans loved hearing one of Europe’s top defenders talk about them in this manner especially after teammate Giorgio Chiellini took a swipe at their history in the Champions League two seasons ago and here’s how some of them reacted:
