Danny Rose will not play for Tottenham Hotspur again, that is according to The Sun journalist Martin Lipton.
The England international left-back moved to Newcastle United on loan on Thursday and Lipton believes that even though it is a temporary move, there is no way back now for the 29 year-old at the north London club.
Speaking on the White and Sawyer show on talkSPORT (Thursday 30th January), Lipton said: “He’s not going to play anymore for Tottenham. There is no way they want him in the team; they don’t want him in the squad, they want him out of the club, they don’t want him to be seen there ever again.”
Rose has been at Spurs since signing from Leeds United in 2007 and in that time he has made 214 appearances for them in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 29 assists in that time (Transfermarkt).
He was a key figure under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, but following the arrival of Jose Mourinho, he fell out of favour and started just once in the Premier League under the Portuguese (Transfermarkt) which ultimately led to his loan move to St James’ Park.
Plenty of Spurs fans have been reacting to Lipton’s comments about Rose and it seems that most wouldn’t be upset if the left-back never played for them again. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
